Mark Coppeler
Ottawa County Commissioner

Mark Coppeler is long-time Ottawa County resident, experienced government official, and successful business owner. 

While operating Coppeler Heating and Electric, Mark was elected to Port Clinton City Council and served as chairman of the Finance and Infrastructure committees. In 2016, he was elected to the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners for his first term. While a commissioner, he has led numerous community initiatives, including facilitating the Portage River Water Trail (coming soon).

Mark Stahl is an experienced financial professional and well-rounded public servant. 

Mark graduated from the University of Toledo with a dual bachelor in business focusing on Accounting on Finance. While working in accounting, Mark was elected as Allen Township Trustee, where he served for five years. He was elected in 2009 to the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners and later elected again in 2016 to return to the board. Mark also serves as a Battalion Chief with Allen-Clay Joint Fire District.

Nathan Daniels is a lifelong Ottawa County resident and practicing attorney.  A graduate of Genoa Area High School, he went on to attend the University of Toledo, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a J.D. from the College of Law. 

Nate currently serves as Special Counsel to the Oregon Municipal Court, where he represents indigent clients. Additionally, he works at the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, Ohio.  One of Nathan’s proudest achievements is becoming an Eagle Scout.

Tony Hatmaker has spent his career effectively managing taxpayer dollars in positions of public service.

 

A graduate of Port Clinton High School, Tony graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. He served as the the Treasurer of the Genoa Area Local School District and as Treasurer of the City of
Port Clinton. In all, Tony brings a 25 year career of successful fiscal management in the government sector.

John Klaehn is an experienced attorney and business owner.

 

John is a forty-five year resident of Ottawa County, residing in Danbury Township with his sons, John Jr. and Alex. He spent ten years operating and managing his family’s business, Mutach’s Market in Marblehead. For the past thirteen years, he has been in the private practice of law, specializing in Criminal Defense, Estate Planning, Probate and Real Estate. John earned his bachelor degree from Capital University and law degree from Ohio Northern College of Law.

Fritz Hany is an experienced legal professional, teacher and former judge. 

Fritz previously served as the judge of the Ottawa County Municipal Court, where he won four elections to the position. While judge, he served on numerous statewide boards and commissions to advance sound law in the state of Ohio. Fritz also served as a faculty member of the Ohio Judicial College, where judges instruct other judges. Prior to serving as judge, he was a partner in the law firm Rosentreter, Robertson, and Hany.

Douglas Swearingen
State Representative of Ohio 89th District

D.J. Swearingen is a business adviser and State Representative for the 89th House District. 

DJ has served as our state representative since 2019 and currently practices law with the firm Wickens, Herzer, Panza where he advises business owners on transactions, daily operations, and future initiatives.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bowling Green State University and his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Dayton School of Law, cum laude.

James VanEerten is a native of Northwest Ohio and current Ottawa County Prosecutor.

 

James previously operated a private law office, title insurance business, and served as Court Administrator for Ottawa County Common Pleas Judge Bruce Winters from 2010-2016. In 2016, James was elected Ottawa County Prosecutor. James resides in Danbury Township with his wife, Stacey, and daughter, Laine.

 Charlie has the experience, integrity, and temperament to be a judge. He understands that judges play a crucial role in preserving the rights guaranteed to us by the United States and Ohio Constitutions. Charlie believes that judges should decide cases based on the law, not their personal or political beliefs.

Charlie is a litigation attorney at the law firm of Eastman & Smith, Ltd. in Toledo, Ohio, where he advocates on behalf of clients in trial and appellate courts throughout Ohio. After obtaining a degree in political science from The Ohio State University, Charlie earned his law degree from Capital University Law School.

Proud to call Northern Ohio home for over 30 years, Theresa Gavarone and her husband Jim have three children and are members of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green. Theresa is an attorney and co-owner of Bowling Green’s Mr. Spots with her husband. As State Senator for the 2nd Senate District, Theresa is building upon the successes of her time as State Representative. She continues to lead the fight for smaller, more transparent government, a stronger economy, and a brighter future for northern Ohio families, citizens, and small businesses.

Congressman Bob Latta represents Ohio's Fifth Congressional District and is currently serving his seventh term in the United States House of Representatives. As Republican Leader of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, and as a member of the Committee's Subcommittees on Energy, and Consumer Protection and Commerce, Bob oversees a variety of issues, including energy, telecommunications, food, and drug safety, health care, and interstate and foreign commerce. He also serves as Deputy Whip, Co-Chairman of the Rural Broadband Caucus, and is a past Co-Chairman of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus.

Candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, Ohio 9th

Rob Weber graduated from the U.S.  Military Academy at West Point majoring in Environmental Engineering. He served on active duty in the Army for five years as an Armor (tanks) officer attaining the rank of Captain. Rob obtained a M.B.A. from the University of Louisville, and earned his law degree from The Ohio State University. Rob has practiced law for 17 years working exclusively as a trial lawyer where he handled numerous high stakes multi-million dollar catastrophic loss claims. Rob supports a balanced energy grid which includes oil, gas and nuclear power, opposes to wind turbines on Lake Erie.

Rob is Pro-1st & 2nd Amendment, Pro-Life, Pro-America First & Pro-American Worker, Pro-Law & Order, and a Constitutional Defender.
